Data Society

Research in the Data Society theme develops methodologies, techniques, and practices to act and intervene in the growing datafication of education, with the aim of co-producing desirable, socially responsible, educational futures of equality, inclusion, and social justice. Drawing on critical understanding of the ways data, algorithms, artificial intelligence, and other automated technologies shape teaching, learning, educational governance, knowledge, and citizenship, our work sets out to build modes of action that are attuned to both the history of technological innovation and the politics of participation.
