Computational thinking in primary schools conference

Come to a free one day conference at Moray House School of Education to learn about the new computing curriculum for Scottish schools.

 

  • Hear an overview and rationale for the new computing Expectations and Outcomes from the members of the writing team (Professor Judy Robertson)

  • Learn about what activities and technologies will be useful for teaching for different stages (Kate Farrell, Computing at Schools Scotland)

  • See examples of computational thinking work produced by Edinburgh primary pupils (as presented by local teachers)

  • Get to grips with programming in Scratch (beginners’ and master classes available)

  • Try out robots, toys and other resources for yourself

  • Receive a free guide to teaching the new Es and Os (written by Computing At Schools Scotland and the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance)
