Welcoming new colleagues and visitors

We are very happy to welcome two new Research Associates to the Centre as the new academic year kicks off.

Dr Zayba Ghazali has joined us as Research Associate to the NSF Move2Learn project, and Dr Michael Sean Gallagher joins as Research Associate on University strategic projects in distance learning and digital education future visions. 

We are also really delighted to have a group of new international visiting scholars over the coming semester:

Dr Rafael Morales Gamboa is visiting from the University of Guadalajara in Mexico to explore research collaboration and teaching exchanges

Dr Yeqin Kang is visiting for one year from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China, to conduct comparative research on open education and massive open online courses.

Professor Yannis Dimitriadis, University of Valladolid, is here from September to November to work on the connections between learning analytics, learning design, and learning orchestration. 

Professor David Williamson Shaffer, University of Wisconsin Madison will be here during October to work on learning analytics, and epistemic games, connections between social network analysis and epistemic network analysis. 

A/Professor Abelardo Pardo, University of Sydney, will be here in December to work on learning analytics, analytics-based feedback, and flipped classrooms. 

Dr. Rafael Ferreira, Federal University of Pernambuco (Recife, Brazil) will be a visiting postdoctoral research fellow based in the School of Informatics from the next year, working on text mining of online discussions in English and Portuguese.
