Jenni Doonan

Curriculum & Partnerships Manager, Data Education in Schools

I am working alongside Judy Robertson supporting the Data Education in Schools project and the University of Edinburgh’s partnership with Mid Lothian Council in developing Scotland’s first STEM School.

I am responsible for building industrial partnerships between the Data Education in Schools project and companies in diverse industries to ensure we bring real-world and relevant data led learning into the classroom.  I am Chartered Engineer with 15 years of experience in Europe’s biggest space projects. Since 2016 I’ve worked in STEM education, partnering with schools to deliver STEM learning in primary schools. In supporting the development of Scotland’s first STEM school I hope to be able to use my previous professional engineering experience to deliver long-term and sustainable changes to STEM education in Scotland.

In addition to my engineering qualifications I have an MSc Education, Public Policy and equity and have research interests in Initial Teacher Education  (ITE) with a focus on primary education and STEM.
