Dr Claire Sowton

Communication and Knowledge Exchange Coordinator

I manage communications for the Centre for Research in Digital Education and Data Education in Schools. My research background lies digital and mobile approaches to engagement and evaluation of cultural experience, including the AHRC Artcasting project and Litlong (School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures). My professional background, connecting young people (in schools) with arts, creative and cultural activity, directly influenced my doctoral study of evaluation and cultural value in publicly funded (participatory) arts projects. I continue to supervise MSc Education students, undertake consultancy (arts engagement) and project management. I am an Advance HE Fellow and 2022 Auroran. I also completed the NCCPE Engage Academy in 2022 with a focus on data visualisation in knowledge exchange.
