Dr Markus Breines

Research Associate

As part of Distance Learning at Scale project, Markus is currently researching the future of digital education, which includes the exploration of the potential for automation and the use of teacherbots through workshops with staff and students. His previous research with the Open University examined distance education in Southern Africa, and this work has built substantially on his earlier PhD research on the role of higher education for social mobility in Ethiopia. Markus received his PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex.
