Simon Kelley

Professor of Isotope Geochemistry and Head of the School of GeoSciences at Edinburgh University

Simon Kelley is Professor of Isotope Geochemistry and Head of the School of GeoSciences at Edinburgh University. He has a wide range research interests in Earth Science focussing on the rates of geological processes, and noble gas geochemistry, resulting in around 200 journal articles.

Simon also has a research interest in the use of online and open educational resources to enhance and deepen student learning and engagement. Simon led the Virtual Microscope for Earth Sciences project at the Open University producing an Open Educational Resource that now hosts over 1000 thin section including rocks from around the world, meteorites and Moon rocks.
