Sandra is a researcher and PhD student based in Uganda. Her research investigates the intersection of digital literacy, technology, and sustainable livelihoods for displaced and marginalized populations, particularly refugee women in Uganda. By examining the lived experiences of refugees, she seeks to contribute to a nuanced conceptualization of digital literacy, exploring how it is shaped through the lens of marginalization and also inform policy within the digital literacy landscape.
Sandra is jointly supervised by Dr Michael Gallagher (University of Edinburgh) and Dr. Seun Olukanmi (University of Witwatersrand) as part of the Wits-Edinburgh Sustainable African Futures (WESAF) Doctoral Programme.
