Cultures and Futures

The Cultures and Futures research theme considers present and future connections between digital technologies and their cultural contexts. We examine interdisciplinary knowledge cultures, learning spaces, cultural heritage and creative industries alongside formal education settings, discovering how these both shape and are re-shaped by technology. We have a leading reputation for developing methodological approaches to understanding the future, and we carry out public engagement activities and speculative experiments to help build positive and socially responsible futures for education.
