Terrie-Lynn Thompson is based in the School of Education at the University of Stirling, and holds an appointment as the Researcher-in-Residence for Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT), an international NGO focused on ICT for social and economic development.
Her research focuses on how professional work-learning practices and pedagogical spaces are changing globally as new web and mobile technologies are increasingly integrated into work and everyday life routines. New mobilities of ways of knowing and knowledge are of interest, as are the politics and ethics of both disruptive and mundane digital technologies. With a strong global focus (particularly the global south), her research examines the increasingly sophisticated digital fluencies demanded of adult work-learners and questions of digital inclusion/exclusion.
