Embodied Learning in the Classroom

Research led by the University of Edinburgh has furthered our understanding of the value of everyday gestures to support children’s engagement, communication, and deeper understanding of key STEM Concepts, and the power to scale the impact of this research across schools.

This project works with two key organisations: SSERC and Pling to significantly increase engagement with two resources communicating this research: 1) an accredited self-study course for early years and primary educators 2) a commercialised card game (STEM Charades) encouraging children and adults to communicate understanding of key ideas through gesture.

This project will increase engagement through the timely opportunity to reserve, prepare for, and deliver two industry exhibition events to engage with educational practitioners, leaders and supplies from across the UK. The project will also create free pdf resources to scale online engagement.

Together, exhibiting at these two events not only presents the opportunity to engage with hundreds of practitioners, but also to partner with those who can scale impact outputs – from product re-sellers to strategic educationalists.
