Move2Learn at Teeny Tiny Toddler Fest Jan 2019

Move2Learn invite you to bring your under 5s and join them for some science fun at Camera-Obscura & World of Illusions Edinburgh on Wednesday 9th January (afternoon) and Thursday 10th January (morning).  Book earlybird tickets here

Teeny Tiny Toddler Fest is organised and hosted by Camera-Obscura & World of Illusions Edinburgh and brings together a range of partners offering science-based activities for the under 5s.

The Move2Learn team along with Wee Science, also from The University of Edinburgh, will be joining The Young EngineersFun ScientistsRuby and Zed from the Royal Zoologial Society of Scotland, and Mess Around Edinburgh for this years space-themed event.

The team will be participating in the festival by encouraging young people (and their parents or guardians) to try out ‘science charades’.  Based on the classic game, science charades is about communicating everyday science words in different ways.  Some participants may be asked to communicate a science concept using gesture only while others might be asked to combine gesture and speech.

The Move2Learn team are interested in particular ‘concept-relevant’ actions and gestures which support science learning.  The project is informed by research suggesting the way we think is inseparably linked to our body-based experiences in the world.  You can find out more about Move2Learn project here.  The project website is in development but further information about the team can be found here

The festival runs from 7-11th January.  Festival FAQs can be found here
