Computer Science Education Week, 'Microbits: Monsters & Moving Sculptures'

The Data Education in Schools team are running three professional learning workshops for teachers that lead up to Computer Science Education Week (9th-15th Dec).  The workshops will run in three venues - Newbattle High School, Moray House School of Education and Wester Hailes Education Centre.

The focus will be on learning how to use a visual block-based programming language to create computer programs, and strategies for using this with learners to develop their experience of Computing Science concepts in an engaging, creative way.

Microbits: Monsters & Moving Sculptures

Microbits are small machines with lights and sensors that can be programmed using a computer or tablet.  This course is designed for individuals in both Primary and Secondary sectors who have access to Microbit devices and want to learn how to use them with learners to create interactive computer programs, including how to lead learners to create their own programs.
