The Centre for Research in Digital Education are thrilled to announce the launch of a fifth research strand: Digital Education in the Global South.
The new research strand stems from years of research and collaborative work that Centre colleagues Dr Michael Gallagher, Professor Siân Bayne, Dr Peter Evans and Dr Rovincer Najjuma have been leading on the practices, issues, and future of digital education in the Global South.
Directed by Dr Michael Gallagher, the Digital Education in the Global South research theme explores the present and future political economies of educational technology use, and the everyday practices of negotiation, consumption, and resistance presented in digital education in the Global South.
Examples of the projects under the remit of the new research strand include:
- Digital Education for change makers in sub-Saharan Africa | Digital Education
- Practitioner Networks and Digital Inclusion for Higher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa | Digital Education
- Connected Policy, Practice, and Accreditation: Connected refugee education in Ugandan higher education
