Lecturer in Comparative Education and Education Policy

Daniel is a Lecturer in Comparative Education and Education Policy and the Co-Director of the MSc Education programme within the Institute of Education, Community and Society at Moray House School of Education and Sport. His research focuses on two main areas: school inclusion and educational development. His recent research on school inclusion explores how institutional structures and social networks can help us understand the inclusion/integration of refugees and host community learners in the context of formal schooling at the primary and secondary level within countries experiencing large-scale displacement. His recent work on educational development explores how data and financing influence the achievement of SDG 4 for marginalised populations—especially those who are forcibly displaced. He has been involved in academic and applied educational research in over 30 countries and has published in leading education journals including, Compare, International Journal of Educational Development, and Educational Researcher among others.
