Deputy Director of the Institute of Academic Development
I am Deputy Director of the IAD and Head of the Learning and Teaching Team, University of Edinburgh. I am interested in the ways of being of learners and teachers in higher education. I want to understand how learners and teachers become more able to engage with the complex and contested challenges our world faces. I see digital education as an important part of that pictures so I want to learn more about how technologies act in our engagement with complex problems. In December 2021 I will be starting a project about academic hospitality and interdisciplinary teaching, led by colleagues in Norway and with collaborators from Australia and Eire.
