The University and Colleges Union Scotland funded this project to inform its response to increasing use of digital technologies in higher education. The project included an extensive review of current developments around data processing and automation in HE settings, from learning management systems and learning analytics to automated recommender systems, attendance monitoring and 'smart campus' systems.
The UCU used the final project report to develop a series of recommendations for HE unions, university leaders and government departments.
