Digital Education Programme Staff spotlight series: Michael Gallagher and Clara O'Shea

The Centre for Research in Digital Education are running the Digital Education Programme Staff Spotlight Series, a series of events to highlight our Digital Education Programme, which offers MSc, PGDip, and PGCert pathways at University of Edinburgh Moray House School of Education and Sport. At each event, our world-renowned academics will share their perspectives and involvement in the program. These events will be moderated by the Program Director, Janja Komljenovic.

On 30 October between 14.00 and 14.30, the second staff spotlight event will host Dr Michael Gallagher and Clara O'Shea.

Key features of the Digital Education programme will be presented. Michael and Clara will talk about their research and discuss how it connects with the programme. This is what they say:

Michael: "My research explores digital education in the Global South and goes directly into my teaching on the MSc, which tries to surface how we might learn from educational contexts predicated on minimalism and working with constraints."

Clara: "I lead on the courses “Digital games, play and the psychology of learning” and “Course design for digital environments”. My research explores assessment and feedback practices, particularly in relation to situated learning, community and identity and, more recently, in relation to game-informed and playful approaches to learning."
