Data Justice Week will explore crucial issues of bias, inequality, and injustice, increasingly amplified by the data-intensive technologies now embedded in our social institutions.

I co-direct the Centre for Research in Digital Education, located at Moray House. I lead on a new research theme called ‘Data Society’, and my work is concerned with the social implications of digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and ‘big data’ analytics, particularly for higher education.

Since September 2018 I’ve been working as Associate Director (Interdisciplinarity and Advanced Training) with the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science (SGSSS). This graduate school unites sixteen universities across Scotland to be the UK's largest facilitator of funding, training and support for doctoral students in the social sciences.
