Senior Lecturer in Education Futures

Janja is a Senior Lecturer in Education Futures and a Data Society research area member in the Centre for Research in Digital Education. Her research focuses on the political economy of higher education and its digital transformation. She is especially interested in digital markets, EdTech, and datafication in higher education. Her interdisciplinary approach intersects economic sociology, science and technology studies, and higher education research.

We have joined Norway’s £28mill government-funded programme for AI and Learning

We will be an academic partner to Norway's AI Learn research centre, contributing to knowledge sharing with a focus on governance and ethics around the use of AI in education.

Welcoming a Centre Visitor in January: Dr Araba Sey

Dr Araba Sey will visit the Centre for a two-week research stay in January 2026. Her visit will also include a hybrid research seminar in our series.
