Professor Judy Robertson

Chair in Digital Learning

Professor Judy Robertson is Chair in Digital Learning. She has been developing educational technology with children and teachers since 1997. She is a Senior Member of the ACM, and a Senior Fellow of the HEA. She is interested in computer science education, serious games for children and gender equality. Her work focuses on how technology can help to solve thorny real world problems. Current projects include Data Education in Schools, which aims to educate all children in the Edinburgh city region about data, and the development of an app to support play for young children in the Edinburgh Royal Hospital for Sick Children. Learning Curves: Autumn 2024 Edinburgh Futures Institute Events

The Edinburgh Futures Institute autumn 2024 events season is starting soon: Learning Curves features 20 live events, free and open to all, examining the future of education. Centre colleagues led on the development of several of the events.

British Data Awards 2024

The Data Education in Schools team have won the ‘Education Initiative of the Year’ Award at the 2024 British Data Awards.

Information Literacy Award

The Data Education in Schools team are have jointly won the 2024 Information Literacy Award, announced as part of the LILAC conference held in Leeds on the 25th March.

Data Education in Schools nominated for British Data Award

The Data Education in Schools team have reached the final of the British Data Awards 2024.

The Data Education in Schools team are working with SSERC to deliver a new online course to teachers.
